The French country house style: beyond the drawer thinking


The country house style is dead, long live the country house style! The luxurious world of exquisite culinary delights and the finest tableware begins with the thickly quilted carpet at the entrance to the restaurant, which swallows every sound and turns it into padded pomp French nobility kidnapped.

The country house style cannot be pigeonholed – especially not in France

Normandy is extremely glamorous here. Lush flower arrangements in pot-bellied glass vases, glittering chandeliers, heavy marble table tops and thickly upholstered seats made of fine velor combine to create one highly elegant picture together, which is supposed to represent Normandy – on behalf of France – far away from home. But: neither the country house style nor Normandy can be integrated into one, and certainly not into this one, Put a drawer.

It starts with the fact that Normandy is so very different in character than its sisterly part dreamy Provence. Rugged cliffs, a rough Atlantic wind and long stretches of uninhabited prairie with lonely grazing sheep have you wilder, more original country house style Made room as is the case in lovely Provence with its warm Mediterranean climate and swaying lavender fields. The round, soft, playful country style, which is often associated with France, sometimes looks very different in Normandy.
