These are the 10 Most Popular Wedding Dates (and Most Expensive)


As soon as you get engaged and start looking for a unique wedding venue, you’ll likely think about when you want to get married. Are you dreaming about a summer barn wedding? What about a fall wedding at your favorite hotel? Or a wintry wedding at a rustic lodge? As you begin to tour wedding venues you’ll soon discover that there are certain dates that are more popular than others.

These are the Most Popular Wedding Dates

While prime wedding season runs from May-October, there are certain days within those months that are more popular than others, and ones that are bound to be more expensive.

The Knot recently released a study that shows that 73% of all weddings take place between May-October, with the most popular months being June (13%), September (15%), and October (16%). That means that your venue, florist, planner, and photographer will most likely be charging peak rates during those months.

Zola delved into those months even more, and shared the most popular dates that they saw from couples wedding registries and wedding websites in 2020. Here’s what they discovered below.

We will likely still be feeling the effects of delayed weddings in 2021 and beyond, so I would expect to see many more Friday, Sunday, and even Wednesday and Thursday weddings filling up vendors calendars this year and next.
