They wanted to elope, their family wanted a wedding, here’s what they did …

As we dive into the very ‘TBD’ 2021 wedding season, we’ve been sharing some Bridal Musings favorite elopements & real weddings, reminding our brides & grooms of the incredible advice of past couples that are even more relevant now while planning weddings during Covid .

This stunning Oregon elopement shoot is an excellent example of bridging both the elopement and the larger wedding, for any couples saying “I do” now and partying later …

What do you do when you’ve always dreamed of eloping & your SO has a traditional wedding in mind? Well, real bride & groom Coral & Matthew have the answer: you do both.

It should be no surprise to any newly engaged couple that the compromises of marriage start with wedding planning – from food & beverage choices, to a number of bridal party members, to first dance songs and the big ‘to first look, or not to first look ‘question. But what if you’re torn at the very basis of your wedding day? What if you don’t want a wedding at all, but your partner does?

Coral & Matthew made it easy on themselves – why not have both? Planning a traditional wedding in San Francisco at a later date, the couple ran away to the Oregon Coast for a ‘faux elopement’. Likely taking inspiration from so many stunning styled shoots (like on BM!), The couple hired a little team of vendors to style a dreamy, misty, atmospheric elopement shoot and boy is it stunning!

Lindsay Lazare Photography shares this beautiful act of compromise, that we hope gives inspiration to couples everywhere unsure how to bridge the gap between big wedding & runaway ‘I do’s’.
