What types of mold are known?

If the fungus is found, the question usually arises as to how mold can be removed. But does the nature of the fungus affect its distribution, health and successful mold removal?

Mold in the property can be in different colors. Often there is talk of “green mold”. Black mold is said to be particularly dangerous. In fact, the color of the fungus infestation does not allow any conclusion as to its dangerousness. The mold removal should always be an issue when the living space is affected anyway.

Nevertheless, the colors say something about the mushroom species:

Black mold

Already under this term about 40 species of fungus are summarized. Another indication that the color does not say much about the danger. Wallpaper (also woodchip), walls, cabinets and food in particular are attacked by black mold. There is an acute danger to humans when ingesting food. But allergy sufferers and people with weak immune systems can get sick by the evaporation of spores. The “Alternaria Alternata” gives off a mycotoxin, which can cause respiratory distress, redness of the eyes, a runny nose or symptoms of allergy. This also applies to other molds.

Red white horse

“Neurospora sitophila”, also known as red baker’s mold, is said to be responsible for respiratory diseases in bakers. This is due to its spread in cereals. Wood, cardboard and paper are also more frequently affected. Special properties that would be important to remove mold, the red fungus does not show up.

Green mold

“Aspergillus Fumigatus” is the most well-known green mold in Germany. It often appears as a gray horse. It is a mycotoxin trained. So far, no direct impact on humans or animals has been found. However, the immune system is further weakened, which opens the floodgates to pathogens. Allergies can develop and eventually the lung tissue is damaged. Potting soil and building materials near radiators provide the perfect breeding ground.

Yellow mold

“Aspergillus Flavus” is the name of the yellow-green mold. This was especially found in excavations in Egypt. Some archaeologists have died of aflatoxin. It also develops on food and may be responsible for liver cancer or heart failure. In the Federal Republic of the “curse of the Pharaoh” because of the climate is hardly common.

Often the dry rot, regardless of color, has similar effects on humans. The elimination should therefore always have priority. First, let’s look at why mold is created.
